Our MIDES partners at SimTech have been recognized by the European Commission Innovation Radar for their development of the IPSEpro Online Platform, which has been put into application in the MIDES project. SimTech was also cited as a key innovator in the Small or Medium Enterprise category. The Innovation Radar is an initiative from the European Commission to make innovations resulting from EU projects visible to wider audiences and to accelerate the market uptake of the technologies within the European Market.
The Innovation Radar classified the IPSEpro Online Platform as “Business Ready” market maturity and “High” market creation potential through its successful function in the collaboration on MIDES. A MIDES project requirement was to present its process model in a shared online platform, in order to allow better collaboration among developers and partners. By using the solver core of IPSEpro in this Horizon 2020 project, it was possible to base the implementation of the cloud-based platform on a web modelling approach. Using the same solver core and the same model library as in the original IPSEpro environment ensured that results were identical to those previously obtained with IPSEpro.
“Performance optimization and analysis during MIDES development and pilot plant operation have been supported by IPSEpro simulation,” said Fatima Dargam of SimTech. “It provides a basis for decisions on process integration, as well as for assessing the impact of changed component parameters due to up-scaling. We’re honored by this EU recognition, and we’re looking forward to further demonstrating this innovation to a global audience – with an eye on future project opportunities with potential partners, customers and investors.”
More about benefits of the IPSEpro cloud-based system for collaborative work on documents:
- With cloud storage, collaborators contribute to documents without the need to send copies to each other via e-mail or other communication means.
- The system is mostly hardware independent, and can be used from a wide range of devices.
- It is not necessary to license and install software locally, even though a more cost-effective service agreement may be needed. It also ensures that any new functionality can be used instantaneously by all users.
MIDES now has 5 recognized innovations (involving 8 consortium partners), by the European Commission Innovation Radar.
