Looking ahead at MIDES 18-month GA in Spain
Members of the MIDES consortium shared progress and plans when they came together for the 18-month General Assembly in Denia, Spain, on 25-26 October. The meeting was hosted by project coordinating organization Aqualia, who also unveiled the new MIDES project deomonstrator that is helping showcase the process and future applications of the project.
At the seaside meetings, partners showed clear progress in work packages aimed at making the microbial desalination cell production a reality to be demonstrated for the first time in 2018 at the nearby Aqualia desalination plant on the Racons brackish-water river. On the afternoon of GA Day 2, project partners boarded a bus to tour the Aqualia Racons facility, and had a first look at the MIDES operations in pre-pilot scale.
