Sustainable desalination at WATEC Italy 2016
Aqualia was invited to participate at the “Desalination within the Mediterranean islands” session of the WATEC Conference in Venice on 21-23 Sept. Victor Monsalvo, Projects Director for Innovation and Technology at Aqualia, gave a presentation “An appraisal and current novel perspectives towards sustainable desalination: Experience & Perspective.” During his talk the energy-efficient production of drinking water using Microbial Desalination Cells (MDC) was discussed, with highlighting of the main goals, activities, and advantages of the breakthrough desalination system developed by the MIDES consortium.
The WATEC Conference promotes cooperation between international companies, in particular with world class infrastructure, organizations and technologies in water technology and environmental control industries. The event offered a unique opportunity to show the MIDES project to potential clients and partners and provided a platform for all professionals dealing with water technologies and environmental control to investigate, discuss and disseminate the activities of the MIDES consortium.
